On May 28, 1778, in the town of Carora, Lara state, General Jacinto Lara was born, a distinguished Venezuelan who stood out for his combat agility he demonstrated in every battle he fought to conquer South American Independence.

From his youth, he was interested in libertarian ideas, a curiosity that led him to join the Patriotic Society that promoted the uprising of April 19, 1810 and from where he fought several battles, notable for his participation in the Cerro Moro where he commanded the victorious troops of Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda.

After the First Republic fell, he decided to move to the territories of New Granada, from where, with the rank of Colonel, he joined the Admirable Campaign carried out by the Liberator Simon Bolivar, achieving important victories for the independence cause.

With the end of the Second Republic, Lara returns to New Granada, from where she leaves to join the forces of General José Antonio Páez, to fight the battles of Araure and Mucuritas. Already in 1817, he joined the forces of General Manuel Piar to fight in what would be the conquest of Guiana, a task for which he was promoted to general.
