The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, provided the preliminary results of the investigation into the helicopter accident in which President Ebrahim Raisi and several senior officials died last Sunday, the 19th, according to the Russia Today website.

He points out that in the document cited by the Tasnim agency, it indicates that the helicopter was following the planned route without leaving the designated flight path.

“No effects of bullets or similar impacts have been observed on the components of the crashed helicopter,” the General Staff reported.

He explains that approximately one and a half minutes before the accident, the pilot of the crashed aircraft had communicated with the crews of two other helicopters in the flight group.

In the conversations between the watch tower and the flight crews, nothing suspicious was recorded.

In addition, the investigation details that the helicopter caught fire after hitting a mountain.

The report notes that extensive information related to the accident has been collected and more time is needed to review some data, which will be revealed after due diligence and specialized work.

Those responsible for the investigation ask that no attention be paid to comments from non-expert individuals, who are published online on the basis of speculation without precise knowledge of the facts or, sometimes, based on information from foreign media.
