The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided the preliminary results of the investigation into the helicopter accident in which President Ebrahim Raisi and several senior officials died.

The document cited by the Tasnim agency indicates that the helicopter was following the planned route without leaving the designated flight path.

“No effects of bullets or similar impacts have been observed on the components of the crashed helicopter,” the General Staff reported.

Russia Today (RT), published that about a minute and a half before the accident, the pilot of the crashed aircraft had contacted the crews of two other helicopters in the flight group.

In the conversations between the watch tower and the flight crews, nothing suspicious was recorded. In addition, the investigation details that the helicopter caught fire after hitting a mountain.

The report notes that extensive information related to the accident has been collected and more time is needed to review some data, which will be revealed after due diligence and specialized work.
