IOM: Landslide in Papua New Guinea could have left more than 670 dead

This Sunday, the head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Pacific island country, Serhan Aktoprak, reported that the death toll due to a large landslide in Papua New Guinea is estimated to exceed 670.

In this regard, Aktoprak pointed out that more than 150 homes could be under rubble about six or eight deep, according to the interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

In addition, he warned that the surroundings of the area where the catastrophe occurred are of no risk due to rock and earth movements that have caused the evacuation of about 1,250 survivors.
