This September 21, as every year since 1981, the International Day of Peace has been celebrated around the world, at the request of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) through resolution 36/67. Later in 2001, the General Assembly established September 21 as a day of ceasefire and non-violence in the world.

The commemoration of this day aims to encourage countries to promote a peaceful society, where justice and equality prevail and are available to all citizens.

It should be noted that, according to a UN document, member States, in order to establish peace in their countries, adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in 2015 because they considered that it is not possible to make this a peaceful world if appropriate measures are not taken to achieve the social and economic development of all people in the world and guarantee the protection of their rights.

The Sustainable Development Goals cover a wide variety of subjects, including: poverty, hunger, health, education, climate change, gender equality, water, sanitation, electricity, environment and social justice.

Venezuela is a country that guarantees peace that continues to build its destiny based on solidarity.

Since the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez, there has been a call for peace among Venezuelans and that President Nicolás Maduro continues today.
