The National Institute for Aquatic Spaces (INEA) reported the suspension of fishing, recreational, sports and passenger boats in the aquatic districts of Puerto Sucre, Puerto La Cruz, Carenero and La Guaira.
The
measure is applied for 24 hours, starting at 2 in the afternoon of that
day, that is, until Saturday, February 10.
In a statement, the institute stated that the action is motivated by the “displacement of a trough system over the area of the Venezuelan Caribbean Sea” that has caused strong waves on the country's central and eastern coasts.
The measure was announced after the observation of the so-called deep sea off the Venezuelan coast, and that in Anzoátegui the phenomenon has affected houses in coastal municipalities due to flooding.
