  • On March 17, 1963, thousands of people attended the funeral of Manuel Mujica, leader of the Youth of the Revolutionary Party for Nationalist Integration (PRIN or former AD-Opposition), who was shot down by an agent of the San Felipe Police, when he was taking off an electoral propaganda poster for AD-Vieja Guardia, at the end of the Betancourt administration.
  • The Ministry of Internal Relations, in charge of Carlos Andrés Pérez, practically justified the murder in an official statement, since the line drawn condemned to death anyone who dared touch the posters and posters of the ruling party.
  • The murder was committed in cold blood and behind the back. The president of the Legislative Assembly of Yaracuy State, Domingo Barrios, was also attacked by armed gangs in AD; an attack in which Mrs. Mercedes Quintana was seriously injured, who received 7 bullets from these gangs that kept her in a very serious state.
  • This wave of violence was generated by the Old Guard of AD, called the Tired Oxen Party, who supported the national and state repressive bodies in venting their hatred against former party mates and their advanced youth cadres, who went on to form a new store in the PRIN.
  • The people of San Felipe demonstrated their indignation by massively attending the burial of the young man killed in the back.
  • Manuel Mujica, at the dawn of his adolescence, was the first victim of Adecocopeyan violence, unleashed during the electoral process of 1963.
  • In that electoral year and as a result of the second division, 21 young people were killed by the repressive forces of Rómulo Betancourt, including:
    • Nabor Díaz was shot in the back when a policeman shot him in Cabudare, Lara state.
    • Albertina Núñez, 24, was murdered in El Calvario del Prado de María.
    • Moisés Salvador Meléndez, 20, in Los Mecedor, in the Puerta de Caracas sector.
    • José López, 22, on San Martín Avenue.
    • Antonio Henry Rojas, 24, killed in Lídice.
    • Lucía Vaamonde, 24, died in the Salas Post after being injured by police in San Agustín.
    • Ángel Bosque, was shot down in Guarataro.
