The Brazilian Civil Defense reported that the death toll increased to 172 in southern Brazil due to heavy rains, specifically in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

In this regard, he explained that 42 people are missing, more than 2 million people are in shelters, more than 77,000 have been rescued.

According to the report submitted by the competent authorities, due to the growth of rivers, roads were closed in this state bordering Uruguay and Brazil.
