The School of Media and Communication (EMCI) of the National Institute for Socialist Training and Education (INCES) presented this Monday, February 26, the short films Elena and Hotel Limbo, on the screen of the Cipreses Cinema, located in front of the National Theater, in Caracas and awarded certificates of participation to more than 50 students.

The short films, both fictional, are the first two film productions to emerge from the formation processes of the EMCI-INCES, an initiative that began in 2022, with the intention of teaching the population to use communication tools, with an emphasis on new platforms, but without neglecting traditional media such as radio, TV, and, of course, cinema, the INCES reported, in a press release.

In this regard, the president of INCES, Wuikelman Angel, insisted that this school stems from the need to train technical personnel who work in the media and who do not have an educational institution that supports and reinforces their knowledge, “the call for training is permanent. We want to go to every parish, to every community. We want to support popular communication,” he said.

In this way, the anchors of Vive TV 123, a group of children and pre-adolescents who work in front of the cameras in the studios of that channel; the participants in the scenography design and construction workshop, an experience that generated two TV studios and a photography set from theory and practice, and the participants of the long film workshop, received certificates.

Regarding this long workshop, the general coordinator of the school, Winder Rivero, explained that “both Elena and Hotel Limbo were carried out, from the idea and writing of the screenplay to the shooting process, only with the participation, in the technical areas, of 16 members of a three-month comprehensive course that took place from November 2023 to January of this year”.

It is hoped that these short films can be sent to participate in some festivals as a result of a training process and the general population is invited to take part in the INCES Media School, a free training initiative with face-to-face and online classes.
