This Saturday at the IV Seminar School and Energy Saving in the face of the climate crisis in Venezuela, held at the Ministerial Tower in San Bernardino, Caracas, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH) warned about the impact of the El Niño phenomenon on the National Electricity System.

The Deputy Minister for New Sources and Rational Use of Energy, Tania Masea, urged building a culture of responsible consumption, details the institution's press release.

In addition, the president of INAMEH, Brigadier General Reidy Zambrano, explained the evolution and development of the El Niño phenomenon for the rest of 2026, and indicated that it will reach a very strong category by December.

He also emphasized that drought and temperatures will intensify in the country until the first quarter of next year, thus affecting the evaporation of reservoirs and hydroelectric generation.
