INAC: The airline sector has mobilized more than one million passengers in the first quarter of 2024

After years of contraction due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Venezuelan air sector has mobilized 1,025,030 passengers during the first quarter of 2024.
According to statistics managed by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), this figure represents a growth of approximately 29% compared to the first quarter of the previous year, which was 795,985. With regard to domestic routes, 488,025 passengers and 537,000 were transported internationally.
In addition, INAC indicated that the Venezuelan airline sector is projected to grow steadily in the medium term, driven by economic reactivation and modernization of aeronautical infrastructure.
In terms of air operations, both domestic and international, during this first quarter there were 12,648 compared to 9,985 last year, with 27% growth. At the national level, 7,987 were registered, as opposed to 6,619 in 2023. At the international level, 4,661 operations were carried out, as opposed to 3,366 carried out in the same period last year.
It should be noted that the international destination with the highest demand was Madrid, Spain, followed by Panama, Bogotá. In relation to the nationals, there are Porlamar, Maracaibo and Puerto Ordaz.
