Work continues to clean up waste and remove sediment in the channels of streams and streams in the Caraballeda parish, affected by recent rains after more than 180 millimeters of water fell and caused faults in the electrical wiring system.
In a press release from the Government of La Guaira, it states that the work was supervised by the governor of the entity, José Alejandro Terán, accompanied by the Secretary General of Government, Daniel Mata and the Secretary of Public Security, Andrés Goncalves.
Terán said that in the state “more than 180 millimeters of water fell in the rains last Tuesday, causing failures in the electrical wiring system, a situation that is being addressed by the CORPOELEC staff, who are doing an excellent job, my recognition goes to that workforce.”
During his inspection tour in the vicinity of the Cinta Costera 13 de Abril, and in the community of San Julián, in Caraballeda, where he undertook to carry out garbage and sediment collection tasks in the coming days.
Terán called on the inhabitants of the higher sectors to avoid throwing waste, mattresses, garbage, electrical appliances and other items that hinder and cause the ravine to overflow in case of rain.
“Thank God there was an immediate response from all the public security agencies, from the people themselves, from the organized community, and together we addressed the situation of the drains. There are more than 390 active men and women from street cleaning crews,” he said.
He stressed that the regional government is prepared with all the machinery and personnel for any contingency due to the rains.
