The Neighborhood Youth Foundation (JDB), attached to the Ministry for Communes and Social Movements, held the final of the Basketball Quadrangular in the Capital District, in homage to the recently deceased athlete, Garly Sojo, who was part of the national basketball team.
This activity took place in the homeless sector of the Santa Rosalía parish, Libertador municipality, Capital District, where teams of young people from the Coche, San Agustín, Santa Rosalía, La Vega and Antímano parishes participated, in which the Antímano parish won.
In this sense, Yosneily Segovia, director of Fjdb in the Capital District, informed that they shared with young people, girls, boys and adults in this quadrangular, who are ready to go and compete with the other states of the country.
“I am proud to follow the legacy of this great athlete, promoting culture, sports and recreation in every territory of the city of Caracas. Long live Garly Sojo! , long live the sport and long live the young people of the neighborhood "”, he stressed.
For his part, Jonathan Piñango, facilitator of this foundation, added that this final of the tournament was held in one of the spaces recovered by the Neighborhood Youth Movement to promote spaces for life and peace.
“Being in this quadrangular is a privilege, to honor a great friend like Garly Sojo, we can continue to create new spaces for holding events where children and young people can participate in tournaments, games and play.”
Likewise, the young Nicole Niño, from the Antímano parish, said she was happy to support her parish team in this cup, who stressed that “Garly Sojo was a great young athlete who exemplified our territory. I have been following the work that young people in the neighborhood are doing daily in each of the territories they visit.”
It is worth noting that these policies are promoted by President Nicolás Maduro in order to contribute to the training, recreation and healthy leisure of the Youth of the Neighborhood so that they can improve their quality of life.
