Through the social network X, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, highlighted that the doors of the Tomás Vega Naval Post Office, in Turiamo, Aragua state, were opened to receive the People and the Feast of San Juan Bautista.

“The doors of the Tomás Vega Naval Post Office, in Turiamo, on the coast of the #Aragua state, were opened to receive tourists — residents of #Maracay — for the celebration of the day of Saint John the Baptist in the land of their ancestors,” he wrote on the social network X.

In this regard, he emphasized that this action is a step towards “the historic demand of this community, which must have abandoned those properties when Marcos Pérez Jiménez ordered the construction of this strategic infrastructure in 1957.”

He also thanked the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, “and to the general commander of the Navy, Admiral Neil Villamizar, as well as to the command and military personnel of the base for the institutional coordination of this cultural event within the framework of civic-military union.”
