During 2023, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) neutralized 48 drug trafficking aircraft that tried to violate our airspace or landed in remote areas of our territory, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, said.

In addition, he explained that during the past year 49 clandestine landing strips were disabled; 52 thousand 145 kilos of drugs from Colombia were seized; 61 laboratories for the production of drugs and 2 artisanal submarines were destroyed.

“We have been characterized by being a genuine revolution that does not copy gringo manuals to suppress the people or for false wars. We have been characterized by having our own methods, our own manuals, which is why the military doctrine built by Commander Chávez has been the correct one, a single FANB,” he said during the presentation of his annual message to the AN.

In addition, Maduro recalled that during 2023, the FANB detected and destroyed 3,600 illegal mining camps that were destroying our environment. In addition, these actions resulted in the eviction of more than 14,000 people of different nationalities dedicated to the depredation of the environment.

“Thousands of equipment and machinery used for mining were confiscated. Throughout the national territory, 18 military operations were carried out, including 132 deployments to eradicate illegal mining and cross-border crimes,” he said.

In addition, he explained that the FANB also destroyed 441 camps and 1,182 logistics facilities used by criminal organizations to maintain illegal operations in the national territory

In the same way, he pointed out that last year 1,884 Organized Crime Groups (GEDO) were dismantled. He also highlighted that during 2023 it was possible to bring order to the prison system and put an end to “prancing” in prisons.
