On March 12, 2007, a sea of people accompanied Commander Hugo Chávez from the Haitian Airport to the Venezuelan embassy of that country, under the slogan “Long live Chávez, down Bush”.
For his part, Commander Chávez highlighted the historic struggle of the Haitian people, “500 years working to build their own history,” he said
Chávez traveled 2 kilometers with his arms raised with the vehicle's doors open, while the crowd continued to cheer him up and show him their love.
At that time, the Supreme Commander was touring Latin America as was former President George W. Bush, this fact historically demonstrated the leadership of the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution in the region.
