On March 8, 2001, during an event commemorating International Women's Day, Commander Hugo Chávez, decreed the creation of the Women's Development Bank (BANMUJER).
The bank began operations on September 13 of that same year, where it benefited 250 women with the provision of microloans.
Thanks to Commander Chávez, Venezuelan women were included in the country's socio-productive system as part of the demands of the female role.
In these 24 years, BANMUJER has advised and financed women entrepreneurs who are daily examples of the promotion of the country's economy.
