• That morning of February 4, 1992, the Venezuelan people were amazed at the statements of an official who called on his colleagues to lay down their arms, implying that it was a temporary suspension of the activities of an ongoing Bolivarian Movement, but still anonymous in the national conscience.
• Never has anyone, in 34 years of democratic farce, witnessed someone giving everything for Venezuela and risking their own life and that of their companions, without expecting anything in return.
• An anonymous military organization, moved by the serious enthusiasm of profound transformations, surprisingly proclaimed, in the voice of its Commander, a “for now”, whose solidarity echo resounded in millions of homes, announcing that the new actors and the new expected times had finally come to stay.
• Since that day, however historic, all the floodgates for discussion, the debate of ideas and mobilization in the streets have been opened for the People.
• The National Congress was the first stage to denounce the real causes of the rebellion that morning.
• Aristobulo Isturiz defended the cause of the rebellion as a transcendent political event and not as a frustrated attempt. He disqualified the government's thesis of assassination and expressed solidarity with the principles of the rebels.
• Rafael Caldera did not hesitate to seize the opportunity to make a mea Culpa and obtain electoral dividends in the face of a plethora of shameful supporters and copeyans.
• For his part, David Morales Bello, father of judicial and police corruption in Venezuela, did not hesitate to tear his clothes to demand the application of capital punishment for insurgents. This statement is not only aberrant and unconstitutional, but also openly criminal.
• And so were recorded in the debate diary of the National Congress, the subsequent interventions, reliable evidence of the intentionality of each person:

Rafael Caldera:

• “It is difficult to ask people to stand up for freedom and democracy, when freedom and democracy are unable to feed them and prevent the exorbitant increase in livelihood.”
• “It would be naive to think that these are just the adventures of a few ambitious people who jumped out on their own without realizing everything they were getting into.”
• “There is an environment, there is a sea in the background, a serious situation in the country and if that situation is not addressed, fate has many and very serious concerns for us.”
• “I don't think it's fair to say, in such an absolute way, that the purpose of those responsible for the uprising was to assassinate the president... I mean that what we are facing responds to a serious situation that Venezuela is facing.”

“DEATH TO THE COUP PLOTTERS”

• In response to the speech given by senator Rafael Caldera for life, his colleague David Morales Bello for Democratic Action in the exercise of the right to speak answered:
• “We must face those who materialized these events with absolute and irrevocable decision so as not to give in to the temptation to deviate from considerations, and the point is to condemn the coup plotters. To let the world know that there was a total repudiation in Congress and to make it clear that the insurgents do not have their support.”
• “This is condemned in a single word: Let the coup plotters die!”
