How is it that the participation of the People is the tool that guarantees peace?

“We will not cease on the path of elections and the Constitution... The Constitution is going to be 26 years old and there are things that have changed, one of the things is Popular Power, the popular organization,” said the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello at the party's press conference last Monday, January 27.

Since the militancy of the PSUV, it has always been committed to guaranteeing peace in the nation, from the mobilization, participation and strengthening of the bases during the 32 electoral events that have taken place in these 27 years of Revolution.

One of the main achievements valued by the authorities last year, without a doubt, was to maintain peace in the midst of adverse circumstances of permanent siege by the extremist opposition inside and outside the country, and the multidimensional war led by the United States and its allies, explained journalist Juan Carlos Díaz Guerrero, a correspondent for the Prensa Latina agency in his article published on December 23, 2024.

The fact is that last year alone, their intention to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro in the presidential elections of July 28, led to the organization of numerous assassination plans and armed uprisings to generate internal chaos starting in the second half of 2023.

According to Díaz Guerrero's article, these operations were held responsible by the Drug Enforcement Administration , based in Colombia, the Central Intelligence Agency, both American, and the Venezuelan extreme right based in the city of Miami and other areas.

Díaz Guerrero added that “in addition to criminal and terrorist plans, others were added, prior to the holding of the elections, which were also accompanied by the permanent threat of violence, disinformation on social networks and traditional media outlets, together with threats of armed mercenary incursions from abroad, especially from Colombia, systematic attacks on sensitive infrastructures in the country such as the electricity system, bridges, distribution of gas and others, to create discomfort in the population and affect the electoral results”.

With 14 consecutive quarters of growth, the reduction of inflation to historic levels, 100% food self-sufficiency with domestic production, the increase in non-oil exports and their diversification, the Venezuelan economy distinguished itself in 2024.

Beyond the progress in this area, the year that just ended defined the Government's strategy for 2030 with the approval of the Plan of the Seven Transformations (7T) presented to the people since the beginning of the year and in constant evolution and discussion with the sovereign in the last 12 months, the 7T derived from the Economic and Social Development Plan created by Commander Hugo Chávez.

Enriched with the participation of more than 2.5 million Venezuelans in 63,000 community assemblies, this initiative has as its fundamental objective the economic recovery and profound social transformation of the country.

And in this process of consolidating the Revolution and the people's leading democracy, Maduro swore in the first brigade of the Bolivarian National Militia of the Presidential Honor Guard, which deepens the will to empower Popular Power in the defense of the country.

In Venezuela, the people woke up “to never go back to sleep, to let themselves be betrayed and Simon Bolivar woke up forever as a worker, a worker, a soldier and a militiaman,” said the president.
