The Houthis in Yemen claimed this Tuesday, November 12, to have carried out two operations aimed at attacking American ships, the Russia Today website reported.

According to the statement, the first one was perpetrated against the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea using several winged missiles and drones.

Meanwhile, the second one targeted two American destroyers in the Red Sea, which have been attacked with a series of ballistic missiles and drones.

The group specified that the operations lasted eight hours and “have successfully achieved their objectives”.

For its part, the SWI portal, reported that the military spokesman of the Houthis, Yahya Sarea, said in a statement that the rebels launched “a series of cruise missiles and drones” against the USS Abraham Lincoln, “while the American enemy was preparing to carry out hostile operations” against insurgent positions in Yemen.

“The operation has successfully achieved its objectives and has frustrated the operation that the American enemy was preparing against our country,” said the spokesman, who added that the aircraft carrier was in the Arabian Sea but did not provide details about the attack.

So far, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has not commented on the attack, although a couple of hours earlier it announced in its official X account that a group of combat aircraft from the USS Abraham Lincoln were “supporting operations against the Iran-backed Houthis”.
