The Tiburones de la Guaira were crowned champions of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) after defeating the Cardinals of Lara 3 runs by 0 at the Antonio Gutierrez stadium in the city of the Twilight.

After 38 years without being crowned in the Venezuelan leased ball, the sharks broke the curse to raise their record as champions to 8, a title they had not won since 1986.

The long-awaited championship was led by Oswaldo Guillén, precisely a member of that team that was crowned champion for the last time. Let's remember that Guillen came to the helm in the middle of the regular season to straighten out the path that today culminated in the dream goal, in addition to mentioning the great contribution of Carlos “Toro” Zambrano, who as a pitching coach did his bit.

They won the first crown in the 1964-1965 campaign, when they began a hegemony by winning 4 titles in 6 years, that is, from 1964 to 1970.

In short, Tiburones became champion in the years 1964-1965, 1965-1966, 1968-1969, 1970-1971, 1982-1983, 1984-1985 and 1985-1986.
