Here's the reason! SAPI canceled records of two Canserbero phonographic productions

This Friday, February 2
, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that on
January 20, the Autonomous Intellectual Property Service (SAPI) issued
an administrative act by which it annulled the records of the
phonographic productions Life and Death and Apa and Can by rapper Tirone González, better known as Canserbero.
In this regard,
during a press conference, he indicated that this measure was taken because after
carrying out the relevant investigations, it became known that Leandro Añez (Kapu) recorded Tirone González's musical themes
as his authorship, thus obtaining “
100% of royalties in relation to the most relevant musical themes; without
paying Canserbero's father the money he deserves for this concept”.
He explained that the research
showed “that Canserbero is the author of his own lyrics, but he also collaborated
together with Leandro Añez (Kapu) in the musical production (...) So
we would be in the presence of a 'co-production'” between the two.
He stressed that,
despite this, Añez “maliciously registered with the
Collective Management Society (ASCAP), as his own the entirety of the musical production,
thus silencing Canserbero's professional merit and therefore his cultural contribution”.
In turn, he specified
that Añez had not only attributed himself to “the total musical production of
Canserbero, but he also recorded as his authorship the musical themes of Tirone González”.
For this reason, he stressed that the SAPI decision will remain in force, “since until now the Public Ministry has no evidence to prove the total production of Leandro Añez, in the above-mentioned musical themes.”
