This Thursday, marks the 25th anniversary of the start of the historic Sunday program Aló Presidente led by the Giant of the Fatherland, our Commander Hugo Chávez, at that time when he began his first term, proposed creating a program where he, as Head of State, could interact with the population and thus inform them about government programs, plans and strategies.

Thus, on May 23, 1999, the project that would mark a global milestone began. For the first time, Venezuelans would hear a President of the Republic conducting a program in which, in addition, they would be heard.

The doors of Radio Nacional de Venezuela (RNV) were opened, through the signal of the Information Channel on the dial of that time 630 AM (in Caracas) to introduce to the people a program in which they could express themselves without limitations, talking to Commander Chávez, turning Aló Presidente into a media phenomenon that was in the making and that, now, serves as an example for the world.

The support of the population was so great that on August 27, 2000, the 40th edition of Aló, President, was released for the first time on radio and television. Commander Chávez toured the entire country, the first program broadcast abroad was broadcast number 52, in the Republic of Guatemala. Then, on November 19, 2000, he was accompanied by his counterpart Alfonso Portillo. This program was broadcast on radio and television channels to Guatemala.

On March 11, 2000, the 64th edition of Aló, President was held in the Dominican Republic and then on June 15, 2003, the number 153 arrived in Manaus, Federative Republic of Brazil, on August 17, 2003, the 160 program was carried out from Buenos Aires, in the Republic of Argentina; while, the 231 edition was carried out from the province of Pinar del Rio, in Cuba. On May 28, 2006, space number 256 was moved to the Sacred City of Tiwuanaku, in Bolivia. And finally, the Aló, 298th President, was held in Santa Clara, Cuba, on October 14, 2007.

The unprecedented love of our Commander Hugo Chávez remains in force, every Aló President makes us feel that he is still alive, his guiding message is being put into action by millions of Venezuelans.
