School enrollment, just one month before the start of the school year, grew by nearly 200,000 students, said the head of the Education portfolio, Héctor Rodríguez.
“I want to congratulate them. Enrollment increased, we have risen by nearly 200,000 students this month alone and that is a good indicator that we are achieving our goal,” said Rodríguez during a meeting with the directors and directors of the Centers for Development for Educational Quality (CDCE).
In this regard, according to a press release from the Ministry of Education, he recalled that the current enrollment is above 5 million and that the goal this year is for it to reach 6 million.
According to reports submitted by CDCE directors, progress has also been made in eliminating “mosaic schedules”, ensuring compliance with full class hours.
Rodríguez also referred to the reinstatement of teachers to classrooms after the reorganization and review of responsibilities, as well as the elimination of service commissions, a measure contemplated in a resolution he recently signed.
“We had a good start to the school year, enrollment increased, schedules improved, the full class schedule is being followed, the number of teachers increased; these are victories, we must say that,” he exclaimed.
