Health authorities in the state of Miranda carried out a vaccination day against foot-and-mouth disease in the municipality of Cristóbal Rojas.

The Secretary of Food of the government of Miranda, Miguel Marín, reported that 275 animals belonging to 18 producers in the town of La Mata, which comprises the Arenales I, II, III, La Cequia, Tobías Blanco, La Gallera and Las Casitas sectors, were vaccinated.

With these vaccination days that are being carried out, in Miranda it is estimated that 6,000 animals are treated in the state.

Marín stressed that the importance of these activities is that they allow them to have their herds vaccinated and certified free of fever.

During the month of March of this year, the State Animal Health Committee was created and installed, in order to address the vaccination schedule against foot-and-mouth disease and to advance comprehensive care for the Mirandino animal herd, according to a press release from the regional government.
