This Wednesday, April 17, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that in the “country we are building a new diversified economic model that, first of all, meets the country's internal needs and secondly exports”.

This statement was offered on the five-year anniversary of the so-called “Productive Wednesdays, with a day held from the Portuguese state.

“We are going to build many virtuous local and regional circles that are linked to a new productive system that is totally sustainable, sovereign, self-sustained, that does not depend on licenses from the gringos, that does not depend on anyone on earth, that only depends on our efforts because with our own efforts we have succeeded we are recovering the country,” he said.

He stressed that “what the prophecy did was come true, five years later we have achieved a giant step towards the agri-food independence of Venezuela, thanks to whom? To the peasants, to the peasants, to the producers”.
