The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that Venezuela does not depend on Brazil or anyone in this world, only on its own efforts, referring to whether he expects the head of state of the Amazon nation to rectify the veto of preventing the country from joining the BRICS group.

“I believe that we must always wait, we have learned from our historical experience, we must expect results from our own efforts, never depend on anyone, whatever their name is,” he said.

This was stated in the Presidential Week segment of the program With Maduro+, broadcast number 64, in which he stated that “we don't depend on Brazil for anything, nor on anyone in this world, I think we have already learned, we have faced the largest empire in the world”.

In this regard, he maintained that “we have defeated their sanctions, their threats and we are victorious, in peace and with a project from strength to strength, forward”, while adding that “we have managed to build relations with the Peoples, our relationship with the People of Brazil is extraordinary, with their social and political movements. It will continue to flourish.”

“If the United States sanctions could not stop us, the veto of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry will not stop us, stop the path to the BRICS, which is our path, because it is the path of Bolivar,” he said.

He assured that “now we will be more rebellious to deepen ties with the BRICS countries. If they tell me you can't go there, here I go”.
