The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, asserted that after the COVID-19 pandemic, Venezuela began the phase of building a new economic model, “on which we are now focused.”

“We have 10 quarters of growth, we have been growing since 2021. Good growth because it is sustained, is the growth of the non-oil economy, fundamentally,” he argued.

However, he stressed that “the oil economy shows signs that I am alive, that we are going to talk”.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, “the communities of the Venezuelan people used the pandemic to think more and better, to start a business here, there,” he recalled in the seventh episode of the Maduro Podcast, in which the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, was invited.

He specified that the objective is to continue expanding this new economic model, “not dependent, diversified, that meets the country's internal material needs, what the People need and generates new wealth.”

“A lot of wealth, that's what we're focused on,” he reiterated.
