The President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Nicolás Maduro, this Tuesday, October 15, urged to cultivate love for the country and among all Venezuelans to strengthen feelings for national symbols.
He argued that Venezuela must “cultivate love for God, above all things, but also love for our history, for our people.”
“The power we have is to transform the country, to change everything that needs to be changed and to improve everything in peace, in union and harmony,” he said at the Mountain Barracks, in the parish of January 23, in the Libertador municipality, where he led the act of Transmission of Command of the General Commands of the Army, Navy, Aviation and Militia; the Integral Defense Regions (REDI) (Capital, Central, Los Andes, Guyana and Insular); the Presidential Honor Guard (GHP); the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (SEBIN) and the Military Counterintelligence Directorate (DGGIM).
In that sense, he pointed out that a military career is the work of sacrifice, of patriotism, “it is the career of the brave, who defend the Fatherland even with their lives.”
“Cultivate love and not hate, cultivate patriotism and not false feelings of vengeance, cultivate humility, be proud to be a people,” he said.
The National President said that he feels great joy to receive the banner of the admirals and generals, “I see your pure face, of fighters and in your face I see the strong people, because you military ladies and gentlemen are the people in uniform and in arms.”
“What a pleasure to be able to say to all the commanders who are retiring today, to the commanders who hand over their components and their defense regions, to look into their eyes and honestly say: Mission accomplished. Congratulations,” he emphasized.
