This Thursday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, kicked off the II Venezuela-Colombia Binational Tourism Meeting.

At the beginning of the day, he highlighted that there has been significant growth in tourism between the two countries, of 48 percent. “I welcome all the businessmen and all the good people from Colombia who are here,” he said.

The head of state pointed out that commercial activity was in negative numbers, but that in two years the tourist flow grew.

“Colombians' investments in Venezuela in hotels, inns and lodgings continue to grow. Airlines are earning a lot because flights are increasing, the flow of tourists is in this case different from what happens in commerce,” he said.

President Maduro added that “Venezuelan investors should go and invest in Colombia to increase the flow of Venezuelan tourism to Colombia's many beauties. It's one of the greatest natural wealth and biodiversity countries on planet Earth, it's a wonderful country.”
