In an activity dedicated to monitoring the public policies exercised by the people in the community, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that every resource taken by organized communities yields and allows plans and works to materialize in the territory.

President Maduro, during the activity with the community members, stressed: “The resources, for the most part, are complete and the work is finished”, when the people work for their communities.

He added that if the works are not completed, communities will be able to ask for help to complete them, highlighting their commitment to local development and meeting the needs of the People.

He also called on the people to prepare for the second consultation on communal projects, scheduled for April 27, so that everyone “knows the projects well, so that they can make their decision in an autonomous, sovereign manner,” he urged.

On this day, he highlighted the importance of citizen participation in decision-making.

The President stressed that, for the first time in the history of Venezuela, 70% of the national budget will be allocated directly to communal circuits.

“It's not a matter of an official, over whom no one knows, deciding what's going and what's not going,” he said and stressed that now it's the people who have the floor.

During his words, he explained about the virtuous system of producing and generating wealth, which would be used for future projects of communities.

“(...) The more we can produce and generate wealth for the country, that money automatically goes to communities to solve so many things,” he said and acknowledged: “The needs and problems are infinite” while “resources are always finite”, but he stressed that by combining the decisions of the people with the honest execution of the works, “you multiply the money you have x 10".

The President shared his experience on past problems with unfinished works.

“I know because many times it happened that a need (...), “we are going to make the main street for such a neighborhood and we make sewage for it and a company that no one knew suddenly began to open up the gap,” he said, while detailing the lack of responsibility of some companies in the execution of projects.

“If this work cost ten thousand dollars, they would charge eighty thousand and not finish it,” he explained.

In this regard, he explained that under the new system, “the work is decided by the people and the resources come directly” and maintained that it will invest in popular or specialized labor in a timely manner.
