The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, specified that the time in power of “the Bolivarian Revolution represents 4% of the entire political history of the country.” This was stated during the inauguration of the Expo Feria 25 Years of Homeland in the parking spaces of the Poliedro de Caracas, located in La Rinconada.

“By carrying out a quantitative analysis of the country's political history, in 526 years we can say that these 25 years of Revolution - when for the first time the People come to power with a project, a guide, a doctrine and with a leadership in charge fighting for their independence and dignity - represent 4%,” he said.

He added that “in that 4% of 526 years with conspiracies, dramas, plot, assassination attempts, economic wars and coups d'etat, we have done much more than all the rest of the time of colonialism, neocolonialism, surnames and oligarchy.”

This Friday's presidential day marks the anniversary of Commander Hugo Chávez's rise to political power.
