In an official statement, he specified that the conversation addressed the global political situation, with special emphasis on Venezuela, “after attempts at destabilization and conspiracies promoted from U.S. territory, with the complacency of its government, flagrantly violating international law and the Charter of the United Nations, supported by Latin American and European ultra-right extremism.”

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, held today a friendly and fraternal conversation, via telephone, with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in which they addressed the global political situation, especially that of Venezuela, after attempts at destabilization and conspiracies promoted from United States territory, with the complacency of his government, flagrantly violating international law and Charter of the United Nations, supported by extreme right-wing Latin American and European extremism, which, fortunately, have been contained and neutralized thanks to the action of Venezuelan democratic institutions.
President Nicolás Maduro has reiterated the content of the letter sent to the Secretary General, to his office in recent days, detailing the aggressions undertaken against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and its institutions, which included attempts on the lives of people and attacks on government and private public service facilities that resulted in an unfortunate death toll of 27 people, after an attempt to ignore the electoral results of July 28.
Likewise, the Venezuelan president warned of attempts at external aggression, through the hiring of mercenaries to invade the country and assassination attempts, who publicly threaten national stability through the use of social networks, in which they even promote the collection of funds for carrying out attacks against institutions.
Secretary General Guterres said that the United Nations has
been against the application of the policy of regime change
anywhere in the world, as well as any
action to intervene in internal affairs affecting the sovereignty and free self-determination of nations, advocating the promotion of dialogue between Venezuelans, under the protection of constitutional institutions.
Both dignitaries agreed to support the consultations with different political, social and economic sectors promoted by the Bolivarian Government looking to the future and dispelling any threat of destabilization in Venezuela.
Finally, they agreed to maintain communication at the highest level between Venezuela and the UN Secretary General, which must address the great challenges facing the organization in an increasingly complex global scenario in terms of security and development.
