Head of State signs agreement between prison system and Christian churches

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, accompanied the signing of an agreement for the inclusion of Christian churches in the country's penitentiary centers in order to work for the reintegration of the women and men who are serving their legal sentences there.

“Justice and preventive education, prisons and the prison system (...) we are going for a system that allows men and women who have committed crimes and who have done wrong to redeem themselves,” he said.

Julio García, deputy minister of the prison system, signed the document so that all churches enter the system to carry the message “of our Lord Jesus Christ and carry the message of redemption,” said the head of state.
