On World Poetry Day, this Thursday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised the work of men and women who make language an art.

Through his account on the social network X, the Head of State stated that poets “revive traditions and transmit emotions, uniting people, on all continents, through art, creativity, culture, history and diversity expressed in words”.

Since 1999, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), at its annual meeting in Paris, established March 21 as World Poetry Day.

The purpose is to help sustain the diversity of languages through the poetic word, to give linguistic manifestations threatened with extinction the possibility of expressing themselves in their respective communities and contexts.
