The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted this Friday that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) was refounded to guarantee the territorial integrity of the Homeland and internal security.

From Paseo Los Próceres, in Caracas, during the civic-military parade for the 213th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence Day and Day of the FANB, the Head of State stated that the military corps was refounded by Commander Hugo Chávez “on the principles of People in Arms. There is no difference, there is no distance between peoples and militaries in our doctrine.”

He stressed that Venezuelan military doctrine “is the most beautiful because it is the doctrine that saw the birth of the popular armies of Bolivar, of Zamora, brought to the 21st century where the Bolivarian National Armed Forces are a people in arms and bases its doctrine on a powerful civic-military union of Popular Power and Military Power, to guarantee democracy and the freedoms of a country and a people.”
