Head of State praises creative genius of Martín Tovar y Tovar 197 years after his birth

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised this Saturday the legacy of the painter of national independence Martín Tovar y Tovar, 197 years after his birth.

“Famous Venezuelan visual artist, recognized for his masterful works that take us to important moments in the history of our Independence,” he highlighted through the social network X.

Martín Tovar y Tovar was born on February 10, 1827 in Caracas, where he died on December 17, 1902 at the age of 75. His mortal remains have been found in the National Pantheon since September 22, 1983.
