Nicolás Maduro, president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, reiterated that the energy industry “does not need a license to grow, develop and grow bigger because it has the commitment of every man and woman who works at Petrleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA).

PDVSA has a committed working class and nothing and no one will stop the growth of our fundamental energy industry,” stressed the dignitary, who announced that “the oil industry today is growing with its own efforts, with its viscera, in a sustained, self-sustainable way.

We are building up planning capacity, operational capacity, technological capacity, financial capacity. There will be no blockade, sanctions, or licenses to stop the growth of Venezuelan oil, Venezuelan gas, Venezuelan petrochemicals,” he said.

During a meeting from the Simon Bolivar room of PDVSA, La Campiña in Caracas, the head of state condemned this Thursday the re-imposition of sanctions by the United States (US) Government on Venezuela, and described the so-called license 44 issued by North America as useless.
