The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced that he issued instructions for CONATEL to establish communication with the management of Tik Tok in Latin America and remove from the country all publications related to challenges that can be deadly for boys and girls.
In his Con Maduro+ program on Monday, November 18, the Head of State called for “the mobilization of critical conscience and declaring an emergency in the community to put a stop to this situation in defense of our children.”
Jorge Márquez, president of CONATEL, was instructed to contact Tik Tok from Latin America in Mexico to remove all these so-called criminal, abusive challenges. “I tell the head of Latin American Tik Tol that the deaths of these children fall on you because you are the ones who are spreading this.”
In that vein, he noted that “if in 72 hours Tik Tok does not respond, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in defense of its boys and girls will take the most severe measures on this social network.”
