This Sunday, June 23, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the importance of assuming the commitment to tell the truth of the history of Venezuela on social networks, media and schools, in order to let young people know it.

“We have a lot of outstanding debts (...) that we have to settle, the current methods to connect with stories from home, from the streets, from networks, media, walls, with boys, girls and youth (...) we need an education that teaches love for what is ours, for our history,” said the Head of State during a telephone contact with the Closing of the 17th National Congress of History.

He reaffirmed the importance of telling the truth of the history of Venezuela on the networks, since the extreme right uses “skateboarders who tell stories on Facebook and Instagram to transfigure history.”

He also pointed out that progress must be made in the recovery of historical archives and museums, as well as further developing historic tourist routes. “Because all of Venezuela has been an immense battlefield for more than 200 years (...) it's a field full of heroes and heroines,” he said.

In this way, he emphasized that he expects the proposals that will come out of the 17th National Congress on the History of Venezuela. At the same time, he reaffirmed the men and women who work for Venezuela's insurgent history and reaffirmed all their support and support for the elections of July 28.
