The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted this Monday the spiritual strength of the Liberators and Liberators 200 years ago in the Battle of Ayacucho, essential “to nourish both today's strategy and tactics.”

From Paseo Los Próceres, in Caracas, during the ceremony commemorating the Bicentennial of that heroic feat, the Head of State pointed out that this is “the strategy we have to consolidate Venezuela and continue to promote the union of Latin America and the Caribbean”.

He highlighted that the Liberation Army, commanded by the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre, “used a united combat tactic”, which differentiated it from the classic tactics of Europe. “He had his own military thinking (...) it was precisely to support the left flank with his reserve and contain the Spanish Army

The Dignitary stated that in that important battle that sealed the independence of the continent, the Patriot Army was “in moral superiority and spiritual advantage, because superiority belongs to us, they may have more weapons and more soldiers, but they will have no more heart than us, and here heart and morality prevail” .

“Empires have always underestimated us, they don't continue to underestimate, but at the same time they underestimate our strength, our loyalty and our fierceness as fighters and as warriors,” emphasized the Venezuelan Prime Minister.
