The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during the reception of documents and proposals of the National Debate of the 7th September, recalled the first spontaneous rebellion of the People, on February 27 and 28, 1989 against demagoguery and deception, obtaining repression and massacre as a response.
“Bullet, death and blood, was what Carlos Andrés Pérez gave to the People when he came out to say that he would make a pact with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and, 8 days later, the People were the protagonists of the first global rebellion against the IMF, neoliberalism, the surnames of the oligarchy,” stressed the national president.
From the acoustic shell of Simon Bolivar Park in Caracas, the head of state pointed out that these events are still painful when he sees a massacred people, telling neoliberalism, the IMF, the oligarchy and the traitors: enough now! , enough of betrayal, plunder, surrender and sale of the Fatherland.
