The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, declared May 15 as a holiday in the country's work calendar, for the celebration of Venezuelan Family Day. This was stated during the so-called meeting for life, family and faith held in the country's capital, a mobilization registered in the center of Caracas and which reached Ezequiel Zamora Park, in El Calvario.

The proposal made by the Christian Churches in Venezuela, by Pastor Josefat Barazarte.

“On March 6, you proposed a series of actions to me, exactly nine weeks ago when we met in Puerto Cabello with almost 17,000 shepherds and everything we said there was fulfilled. International visits from Africa, from the United States, decrees to release church taxes and marches (...) Words committed and fulfilled,” he said.

The Head of State specified that today he consolidates the celebration of Venezuelan Family Day. “We celebrate unity, faith, life, hope, truth and love. Today they propose to me that it be declared free, that is, a holiday to meet the family, and to be commemorated: Approved on the 15th of each year as a holiday for the family, union in Christ, family union, encounter, hope and life!”
