The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Monday, March 24, criticized the international campaign created and promoted by the Venezuelan extremist opposition, whose sole purpose is to discredit Venezuelans in the world, in which they falsely classify migrants as members of the extinct band the Aragua Train.
He argued that the “coyote” companies, which charged Venezuelans more than 5 thousand dollars to take them abroad, are all subsidiaries and managed by Carlos Vecchio, Carlos Paparoni, Leopoldo López, Juan Guaidó and María Corina Machado.
He denounced that they have become billionaires with Venezuelan migrants, whom they themselves encouraged, through social networks, by selling the false American dream and, now, they promote and support cruel persecution measures against Venezuelan migrants.
The National President stressed that extremists created a story that was repeated in some countries, such as Chile and the United States, in parallel with a campaign of xenophobia and contempt against Venezuelan migrants.
“Venezuelan migration has its origin and cause in the economic war of that first phase between the years 2017 and 2020,” he recalled and assured that during the country's progressive recovery more than one million 200 thousand compatriots have returned to the country and joined different activities.
In this regard, he recalled that it was the fascist extreme right that called for and supported measures against migrants by creating for months a story about the extinct criminal gang of the Aragua Train, confronted and defeated by the Venezuelan authorities, which in recent years put itself at the service of conspiracy, guarimba and attack on public services.
In the state of Bolívar, where Expo Metal 2025 closed and activated the fourth Engine dedicated to the Mining and Basic Industries sector of the Development Plan of the 13 Productive Engines, he stressed that “we rescued 199 Venezuelan migrants from prison in Texas, now we give them to their families.”
At this point, he congratulated the Minister of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón and the appointee for the Peace Dialogues for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez, for the excellent management to repatriate the above-mentioned compatriots.
“I have committed myself to this task. In El Salvador, we have 238. Nayib Bukele has not shown the list of Venezuelans he has kidnapped. That's forced disappearance,” he said.
He assured that the actions of these governments “are an attack on Venezuela, on Venezuelan identity.”
In this regard, the head of state called on “the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, and the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, to intervene their actions and good offices so that Venezuelans who are forcibly disappeared in El Salvador appear.”
