Head of State closes National Congress of Grandmothers and Grandparents of the Fatherland

This Wednesday, May 29, the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, closed the National Congress of Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Fatherland, which takes place at the Teresa Carreño Theater located in Caracas.

President Maduro arrived at the event and before taking the floor he shared dancing and singing with the grandmothers and grandparents present, who for several days debated to offer proposals on plans for the elderly.

The head of state is accompanied by the first Combatant and deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Cilia Flores de Maduro, together with the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez; the Sectorial Vice President of Social and Territorial Socialism and Minister of Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado and the Minister of Culture, Ernesto Villegas.

“Dear compatriots, I come from a dance therapy carried out as part of all these celebrations and I take this opportunity to tell you that it is necessary to stay active, active, energetic and healthy (.,...) we must keep in shape because we still have to fight great battles for our country and we have to win them,” he said.

He added that “this Congress was held across the country, to keep up the pulse, because the Congress was part of the agreements we made on May 8 at the launch of the Great Mission of the new generation Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Fatherland, which is already taking its first successful steps ( ... )”, he stressed.

The National Congress of Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Fatherland ends this Wednesday, May 29, the day on which the National Day of the Elderly is commemorated in Venezuela.
