The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, gave an assessment of the VIII Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which was held in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, where he highlighted the request to the president of this regional block, the Honduran Xiomara Castro, to take the initiative for the ceasefire in Gaza.

During the broadcast of an interview offered by the president on his return to Venezuela, he said that a group of Presidents and Prime Ministers held a meeting where they prepared the proposal for the new pro tempore Presidency to articulate with the Arab League, African Union, China, among other regional blocs, actions for peace and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

He criticized Israel's complicit countries for exploiting international justice institutions to protect perpetrators, war criminals, while persecuting free peoples and sovereign states.

“It's time for the Peoples. If international organizations are at the service of genocide, fascism and complicity with the West, peoples will have to speak in the streets”, reiterated the Head of State.
