The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called for peace and governance in Haiti.

At the 8th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), he affirmed that Venezuela accompanies the proposal of the President of the Republic of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, now pro tempore president of CELAC, to create an autonomous and sovereign model from this integration mechanism so that Haiti can recover its security, peace and governance.

Venezuela welcomes the proposal that the Presidency of Honduras and President Xiomara Castro, seek, from CELAC, an autonomous sovereign aid model that will allow Haiti to regain its security and governance; and allow the Haitian people to recover their right to peace, happiness and life. We don't agree with any kind of disguised invasion,” he said.
