Head of State calls for combating speculative currency market: We already know that enemy

President Nicolás Maduro, assured that the speculative dollar is an old enemy of the Venezuelan economy and of economic actors.

“Since October, they have seen the reappearance of the speculative dollar, the war dollar, which has different forms and meanings and we know it, it is an old enemy of the Venezuelan economy, the war dollar is an old enemy of you economic actors, but we have to do what we have to do to overcome the announcements of economic war by the United States Government against Venezuela,” said the Head of State.

He added that the government, in defense of the national company in times of economic aggression against Venezuela, announced decisions to replace imports, policies to protect domestic production and tariff restrictions on luxury consumption because it damages or punctures the exchange system in one way or another.

“I have asked the authorities of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) and the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, to establish new technological mechanisms for the development and interaction of the exchange market, which allow the defense of the market dollar,” he said.

He also requested a policy of tax unification so that the municipal taxes that are created do not affect primary production.
