Head of State authorized the import of 500,000 mother cows and mautes to improve production

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, authorized the importation of 500,000 mothers and mautes, in order to improve the country's vaccine production.

“The Cattle Farmers Association asks me to authorize the importation of 500,000 mothers and mautes for substantial genetic improvement over the next three years. It's approved,” he highlighted during the National Council for Productive Economy, chapter: Venezuelan Council for Quality.

The authorization is concrete in view of the increase in meat consumption in Venezuela, before which he pointed out that “we are farmers, we are cattle farmers from Venezuela to grow.”

“Who was going to say at this point, that Venezuela, as a net importer of meat from other South American countries, was going to be supplying the highest quality meat to our people,” he emphasized.

He said that per capita consumption of beef, poultry and fish has increased. “The consumption of animal protein has increased in Venezuela, because domestic meat production has increased, there is no longer the oil jet to buy all the meat for the people,” he stressed.
