Head of State announced the creation of the General rank of the People in honor of Zamora

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during the Act on the occasion of the 203rd Anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo and Bolivarian Army Day, announced the creation of a new rank in the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), in honor of the People's Soldier, Ezequiel Zamora.
He explained that the General rank of the People will be granted to those soldiers who meet the ethical, social and moral merits that characterized Zamora, while assuring that this new rung is a tribute to the Mirandino leader.
During his speech, the president highlighted the anti-imperialist nature of the army, “we are, we were and will be an anti-colonialist, anti-oligarchic army”, while assuring that Zamora was the builder of the second popular army that Venezuela has ever had.”
